Sequoia Hospital’s Birthing Center is recognized as the premiere place in Silicon Valley for Obstetrics and has been voted the “Best Birth Center” in the Bay Area by Bay Area Parent Magazine for the past six years in a row. Dr. Bluvas is proud to have been affiliated with this exceptional institution for over fifteen years. Sequoia Hospital provides 24-hour anesthesia and obstetrical coverage and has a level II neonatal intensive care unit on-site providing 24-hour newborn care by specialists in neonatology. Also offered are birthing classes, lactation support, and large updated private LDRP rooms (Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum). Dr. Bluvas spends a lot of time with expectant mothers so that together they can decide on a birth that suits the individual patient. Some patients prefer a natural labor in which they can be mobile and deliver in the position of their choosing. Other patients prefer to minimize the pain associated with labor to the greatest extent possible by using an early epidural anesthesia. Then, there are other mothers who prefer an elective Cesarean instead of a vaginal delivery. Dr. Bluvas is supportive of all of these routes and will be happy to answer any questions you have about birthing practices so that you feel comfortable your birthing plan.
